Please join us in congratulating Ray Cadena as the recipient of the March 1999 Asprey Award. The award is funded by a generous donation from Bob and Jo Asprey and given monthly in recognition of C&N employees who have displayed outstanding service. Bob was an employee of C&N during the 1970’s and 1980’s and still understands the challenges our university gives us.
Ray Cadena Jr., known to everyone as “Raymo”, started with the C&N Telecommunication Services Department in 1991 as a Technician “B”. In 1997, Raymo was promoted to a Technical Specialist with the responsibility of overseeing the technical aspects and technicians for telephone service at NMSU and NMSU-Alamogordo. His other responsibilities include overseeing the technicians who manage the Fire and Security Alarm systems on campus. His willingness and excitement in getting the job done makes Ray a pleasure to work with and a valuable member of the Telecommunications staff.
Ray is married to Julie Cadena and together they have two sons, Jaron who is 6 years old and Regan who is 4. Ray and his family are very active member of Calvary Baptist Church and in their spare time they enjoy sports including rooting for the “Aggies”.
